Re: Shapers on the Northern Beaches
Thanks for the feed back, some names in there I wasn't aware of, Mauricio and Gnech I'll have to go and check them out. It's good to see Pete Daniell's name being thrown into the mix, I grew up riding his boards but haven't had one for a long time, does Pete do much of the shaping himself these days...

Shapers on the Northern Beaches
Hi all, I'm after some opinions on who is putting out good boards in Northern Sydney at the moment? I've just moved home after a few years overseas and am pretty far out of the loop. I've had a good look around and there are lots of nice shapes out there, just thought I'd put the word out to try and...

Working and Surfing In France
Anyone out there spent much time in France and want to share some info? I'm getting one of those work holiday permits and will be heading off in dec for about a year. How hard is it to find work over there? I know they have a pretty high unemployment rate, but are there any scabby backpacker type jo...

A really big rock ric, it's nice and warm under here, and the weight of it helps to keep my mind nice and narrow. There arn't to many longboarders around where I am, don't really have the waves for it. So its mainly the longboard, mini mal market thats being effected? What PU boards are being produc...

What sort of boards are we talking about here anyway? What shapes are actually being made overseas? Its pretty obvious when you pick up an NSP, BIC ect, mini mal that it hasn't been made by a local shaper, but really who cares, the sort of person who buys something like that cant tell the difference...

south america
I've got 2 months to kill, jan feb next year in south america. I realise its not the best time of year for waves in that part of the world but I have the freedom to go pretty much anywhere I want, so the question is- if you were in my shoes where would you go for the best chance of scoring consistan...

Thanks for the help guys. Just finished the board, it came out perfect! Best glass job I've ever done. Didn't use the volan on this one but will next time for sure. Anyone out there thinking of using the stuff, go for it. How sweet it is to be able to take your time and get everything perfect. Makes...

Thanks for the tips ric, the stuff sounds awesome can't believe more arn't using it. If you expose it to UV just to gel, then take it back into the dark will it continue to harden? Or will the removal of the UV stop the process? Might be able to expose it quickly, bring it back in, cut the laps then...

First time using UV cure resin
I reckon we've seen the last of the big swells so I'm gearing up for summer and shaping a 9'4. Decided to try out the uv resin for the first time, a few questions for the knowledgable few out there. I'll be putting it in the sun, not going to invest in lights till I've tried it first. Someone mentio...

Does anyone have any pics from the session at north av this arvo? Anyone else out there? There must have been 100 people on the headland watching. So much pressure taking off knowing half of avalon is watching. Barton lynch was shredding, hes an absoulte charger. Sorry to say it but i had to laugh w...

buy an expensive one with a good warranty, treat it like crap and make sure it breaks by the end of the season. Take it back and they will replace it. Hopefully if you time it well, they will have stopped making the suit and you will get next years model, treat it like crap...ect. 3 suits for the pr...

There are probably better ways to do it but this seemed the best at the time. If your making a longboard you dont have to chamber it (hollow it out), but if like me your making a shorty you have to or it will be too heavy to ride. Experts reckon they can get it to within 25% of the weight of a foam ...
