Re: Where did you surf today ?

You want crowded..its been a week or more of 300 on the southern Goldy...im sure you've seen the plethora of vids. And now the second tier surf show is in town.... Makes for good viewing ...but just increases the number of entitled ones that think they deserve the right to surf ...regardless of whom...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

In the last years before his passing he did a lot of walking..i mean a lot. He didnt use his car. He turned up at a garage sale at my parents place at Currumbin Waters and bought some pots and pans. I was leaving there and asked if he wanted a lift. He said no...just give me a sugar bag for the pots...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Bondi is actually more like Curly or The Farm. So, it's shit then? Great morning down here, loads of waves coming through for a very early crew. Consistent, lots of east in it. Scored a smoker on my last one to the sheds! Water- cold. Wyre... by the sheds I'm wondering if its just north of Peggies ...

Re: Midlengths

Best twin fin I’ve ever owned or surfed was shaped by Nigel beckham, now retired from shaping, Kiwi gent based gold coast. Big glassed in fins pushed further up away from the tail, and pulled in a little closer to the stringer, vee running full length of the board, small single channel running out ...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

In 1980 i was travelling around Australia. At Pt Douglas that little point set up had little 1/1/2 to 2 ft peelers coming thru at the break wall entrance to the harbour. My travelling partner paddled out and caught 3 little waves and came in. They had a hippie festival in town at that time called th...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Made my way down to Mr Shearers neck o the woods today for a social engagement...but stopped to look at the point. The water is still murky as it is up the coast ..and the east swell was abit saw tooth..but ok according to a few chats in the carpark. There was a local Boardriders comp down in front ...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Has he (Grant Miller) got a place down the Sth Coast?? Perhaps he will end up down there. Ive not had any boards from him personally but my brother has had 2 and he still has them so they must be pretty good. Ive looked at his site a few times and he seems both professional and well schooled in his ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Eeeewww...that looks grim. Always loved the sound of the name...Gary, Indiana. Never twigged it was on the shores of the Great Lakes. Would there be anywhere where you might find swell ..not short period and offshore....i obviously have no clue. And water quality .....? What does 14-18 ft really mea...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

How old was Derek Ho? I wonder if he had a history...or family history. Doesnt matter, really sad..just a reminder to we older Realsurfers. My Cardiologist is a surfer and has only one goal..to keep me in the water as long as possible.
