Re: that wetsuit discussion...
If RC really have said to retailers in the UK that they will only supply their wetties on the condition the retailers don't ship them to Australia, I suspect the ACCC may be rather interested. There is a prohibition against this type of supply arrangement (which is known as exclusive dealing) in the...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I hear you Legion, but tough titty to those at RC if that's their attitude. After googling for a discount code, I scored an O'Neill long arm springy for 94 pounds = about AU$140. While I'm generally a supporter of local businesses, when you consider the top of the line equivilents (RC, Quik, Bong) i...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

Mid north coast spot Wednesday 30 Jan. Hard to tell how big it was, cause no one went out. Double overhead at least. Was tempted, but bottled out cause didn't want to be the only mug in the water...

Polishing a new board - car repair shop?
I've just collected a new board from my local shaper. He's finished it down to a 800 grit sandpaper finish, so she's nice but not super glossy. After looking up a few youtube vids on how to gloss a board, I thought I'd try myself, but quickly realised I don't have the equipment, and ain't about to g...

Mitchell Rae flex tails
Am in the market for a new board, and stopped in to see Mitchell Rae recently. He did a pretty good sales pitch on his flex tails. I've come across a few mentions of them in these forums, notably Shearer's classified ad last year that turned into a rant about guinea pigs. And various people who've s...

Re: jet bottom surfboards
I had a pipedream jet bottom in 1989/1990. The theory was it accelerated the water through the acid trip channels, giving you more down the line speed. Oh, and they looked cool. It certainly went faster than other boards I had at the time, but it was a PIG to turn. A real point break, barrel board. ...

Re: car key safety?
In the 70's, when I was a wee wee grom and my old man took me to the beach, cars didn't get locked. In the 80's, when my older brother started driving and taking me to the beach, if cars were locked at all, keys were put on the front tyre or into the shock spring. In the 90's, before electronic gizm...

Stick it on ebay. Call it an early Simon Anderson prototype, start the bids at $1,000. There's a sucker born every day.

Re: Summer Lovin...boards for mush
I put the general feelers out about a board on ebay ( http://forum.realsurf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=16676&p=366894#p366894 ). I ended up buying it, cause I figured, for $300 you can't really complain. Tossed up the whole buying Chinese pop-out vs supporting Aussie made (struggling shapers etc)...
