Hi everyone,
Am planning on taking the missus and 4yo to LH Is in Mar this year. The place looks beautiful.
Has anyone been there? Accom suggestions?
Would be keen to hear about some surf info - might be better to pm me on this rather than advertise to the entire world.
Thanks.

So how many of you crits have actually read Breath yet??? Finished it yesterday. Fantastic. Not literature (yet) - time will tell. Dogleg ending but he does wrap it up well I think. A non surfing mate of mine read the book at the same time. He was blown away by how beautifully Winton describes the w...

Where to live on the Great Ocean Road?
Hi everyone, Will be re-locating from NSW to Victoria within the next 6 months. Working in Geelong. Missus and 2 little kids. Aim is to live somewhere between Barwon Heads and Lorne. Plan to stay for at least 5 years. Small acreage ok, but would need to be within 20mins of nearest good break. Any su...

Of course, your mate will be there when you contract cerebral falciparum malaria, won't he? And he'll be able to give you all the treatment you require because he is a highly qualified medical specialist - right? No???????? Then take the advice of your doc. He's telling you the truth. Barstardos is ...

Hey Loofy. Avoid Tonga. Stayed there 10 years ago at Steve's place. 2 weeks and biggest it got was 3 foot. Average reefs in front of resort. Better in summer I hear when the N swells open up reefs to the north of the main island and they boat out from the resort. As for Steve... agree with other com...

Hey Grazza! Thanks for sharing your NDE. Have done more than a few swims in on bigger days both in OZ and OS. Legropes are never a guarantee are they! I suppose this is all a part of surfing when it gets over that 6 foot mark. It definitely thins the crowd out which is one of the reasons I really en...

Good thread. Have to agree with the sentiments. I'm 37 and rarely buy ASL or Tracks, despite being a Tracks subscriber in my teens and early 20s. (Just an age thing maybe? Maybe they have chosen to target an audience who are happy with the current content?) For "real" surf journalism, I used to find...

Check out "sol life" surfboards. Shaped by Scottt Crump. Based on the Goldy, but well built high performance boards which will work anywhere. I live between Newy and the Central Coast and it works well around here. Took it to the Maldives and it flew! Came recommended from a mate who shapes up there...

To all you bastards who had the entire day to surf yesterday - you lucky lucky dogs! Hope you made the most of it. Me and a mate paddled out at Hargreaves (Norah Head) at 630am, made a few, got smashed on a few, then had to go in to be at work by 9am (already an hour late). It was 6-8ft on the sets ...

Nice shots. Windy Pt a rare gem. Surfed it good maybe 3 or 4 times in 10 years before moving away from the shire in the early 90s. Sad to see the demise of the Cronulla sandhills though. I remember many days spent surfing way up past Greenhills in the 80s - used to be pretty reliable banks. Looks li...
