Re: Andy Irons Dies
The guy was one of the best surfers ever. In his prime he owned and rattled Slater....he was better than Slater for 3 solid years, was THE MAN at 8 foot plus chopes, and he smoked Slater in 6-8 foot Pipe on the buzzer in the 2006-7 Pipe Master when it really counted..big perfect pits. Its a shame he...

I would really like your honest opinion here and feel I will not get them Well, you know, why did you bother asking? What is it that causes you to think I'd lie to you? Just because of your role in the surf industry and having conflicts of interest. I just feel surf mag writers often lack balls to ...

What is your opinion on Gordon Merchant and other ultra rich surfing executives? Re: How many boards per year get made in Australia?
I agree its the last 10 percent that really counts with a board. The edge on the rails is something that really has an effect for me with boards. Too much edge too far up on the rail infront of the fins tends too cause too much bite and is not forgiving...makes the board feel like it wants to go str...

yes. But anyone who keeps saying "oh Dane really wants to win a world title..he's just pretending not to care etc etc" needs to watch and listen. How many of these embarassing kook-downs from Dane do you need to see to realise he is resolute about refusing to compromise and become a performing seal...

Re: It's 5am in J-Bay.
I think Holmes actually got very lucky...he surfed pretty average against AI and Slater...mainly picking the best waves. Was good to see Andy come back to form. he drew the best lines out of anyone all event IMO. Love his fade top turn combo...so smooth and individual. Melling surfed great...like Fa...

Trestles will be tought for him...he will be hoping for the good side of the draw. Dane and jordy will smoke him in a heat out there...their confidence is growing. Re: current world tour...
but the current emphasis on the big move suits him and Dane to a tee Big moves aren't really Kelly's thing anymore .. the judges are no longer fooled by arm waving and laybacks to make the maneuver appear more critical. Big moves are great but where's the flow whats the point if the recovery is slo...
