Go Howse! Geez it'd have to be the first time a South Aussie has been on the WCT? The last 'pro' from here I can think of is Chappy Jennings  He's not in yet though, I think a few WCT stalwarts (Lowey for one) need to screw up at Pipe for him to get in... Not surprisingly, Howse had to move to ...

We swap details and Im all happy knowing that it was his fault and Im insured etc. Later on in the day I look at my rego sticker and realise OH PHARK its expired by 2...

This is presumably a wind-up. If not, Waterman should bear in mind his IP address has been logged by RS. It's relatively straightforward for the police to track down a person from their IP address. Yeah im sure the police will be happy to waste manpower on a random forum posting  you might wa...

i reckon it would distract you, bit of thread hijack, but this girlie im seeing asked me the other night, why do people turn down their car stereos when they are looking for a street address ? the noise doesn't effect your vision, but it does divide your concentration. i need all the senses availab...

I got Tom Carroll's book for a present (The wave within, I think it was called) I enjoyed. read that one twice during a bad flat spell on the west coast... classic stuff, still my favourite surfer bio by far :) best bit i still remember, "cruising along the north shore with <unknown crazy hawaiian>...

they have big gaps at either end i'm reasonably sure that's how they're supposed to work. sharks get scared if there is a large object (ie. a net) between them and open ocean. The idea is that if a shark makes it past the nets they'll get scared and head back out to see. The nets are layed out some...

G-land Pro 1995, the one Tom Carroll 'produced'... maybe Nick can shed some light on the reality of that title... either way, boolsheet waves and surfing, plus a killer soundtrack that I have since compiled for my ipod! Topped off by the fact the it was Luke Egan's first WCT win and well overdue :D ...

i'd be more impressed if I actually saw spongers pulling moves like that.... after surfing a stormy peak yesterday I sat and watched for at least an hour. I saw numerous clean snaps and high speed roundhouses performed by standups. I also saw spongers doing nothing but, low and behold, spinners... A...

i've heard it said once in years gone by, something along the lines of: "If Simon was given just 10c for every thruster made he'd probably be rich beyond his wildest dreams!" In fact, it might've been $1, but geez even 10c would add up with all the boards being pumped out since '81... But then there...

its hard not to be influenced by the surf media, but I try really hard to just appreciate them for their surfing, not their personalities and competitive attitudes... kinda like some poor hollywood actor getting outed for screwing around on his wife. seems unfair that it should effect their career b...

i'm too far detached from the whole situation to make a decision either way. But i generally assume that anyone who is surrounded by ppl who worship the ground they walk on is probably going to be an arrogant wanker as a result. So far I haven't been proven wrong by what I've seen first hand and hea...
