Sunshine coast 1st timer best for a few days

I will be visiting the Sunshine coast for a week on the way to PNG at the end of January
Where would be a good base for a few days with holiday accommodation walking distance to the beach with mellow crowds and waves, good cafes etc

Thanks

Re: Sri Lanka or Taiwan in April

Both great for surf and interest sights sounds and smells but in April both are between seasons ie NE and SW monsoon so conditions variable and not consistent with swell or wind direction ..if you can accept that sure to have fun

Re: Thailand waves ???

The Andamans only works well at NE/SW monsoon transition months earlier not much swell, later too much wind

V skate feedback

I have had a 6-9 waterskate for a couple of years and the more I use the more I realise what a great everyday board it is.. Now thinking of getting a V skate for bigger days and when a lot of duck diving is needed

Any feedback from V skate riders appreciated

Feedback on T&C Tolhurst Quad Fish

Any feedback on these boards? ... never had a fish before. want to try the swoop and glide of a fish but I ride beach breaks and reefs and backhand so this seems to be a better option than a twin keel.
