Re: Just general surfing stuff

I never found any of them stiff, even the short fat 5”4”. I think they’re great anytime you get a chance to really put pressure on the rails. The keel fish felt amazing in fast beachies, get it to warp speed and the cutbacks were the best I’ve ever done by far, warp speed into the turn, hyper speed ...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I went eps/epoxy with my last board, I knew it was quite different to josh’ tech, but thought I’d try it. It’s great in small stuff but head high plus/faster waves it’s a little bit unstable? The jd is light and paddles like a light weight board but handles faster waves so good, smooth as silk. It’s...

Re: Fish

My new fish 5'8 x 21 x 2.25 Flat bottom image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg Been on the midlengths and shortboards for the past 12months. Rewaxed this after a failed sale attempt. Thank god it didn’t sell. Head high point surf. Lightning fast. It’s got me curious though. I’m 5’10 and 80kg. Nor...

Re: Midlengths

Yes I remember that one, looks beautiful..... Irreplaceable now unfortunately. Did you have an outer islands at one point? It carves like nothing else and will outlast me I think. Yeah, I had a supermal. Great board, beautifully made but it was definitely made for solid waves. Something I don’t spe...

Probably was Buddy, I can't remember it now but if they don't advertise it we must ve hit a nerve, anyways who cares.

Have you still got the beautiful JD's beery?
I only have the 7’4” mate. It’s the best one by far, though I loved the twin keel as well.

Re: Midlengths

Time to fire this thread back to life, I just bought a McCoy...... Only joking! This is a 90 page thread spanning 5 years, it's a real surf midlength chronicle, plenty of good info and boards we shouldn't have sold! I am having a midlength crisis or as I prefer to think refinement/evolution. I am d...

Kelly riding fairly normal boards and suddenly back surfing in the finals.

Coincidence? I doubt it.
But thousands will still buy the new latest and greatest round square with diamond corners and asym channels when he releases it

Super fun session by moonlight at 5.30 this morning at the only spot working in this swell round here. I got about 50* runners before the sun was up and the crowds began to descend.

*5, but used GsTQ scale for effect
Fkukk, I love the dawn patrol but jeez, there must’ve been stars still out!

Re: Where did you surf today ?

You are on the right side of the Gong BF! Pretty hard to find much up here, and the banks are all straight. Honestly expected bugger all but it was half decent and there’s a few nice banks for a change. Pleasantly surprised. As I left it looked quite good, not quite “word perfect peak” but pretty g...

Nice mate, great to see josh still shaping, albeit infrequently. You just know it’s going to be fast, it’s red!

Re: Where did you surf today ?

The late surf this arvo was tragic. Prolly 20 out, slow fading swell so not many waves, nor east wind which was cross off but the swell was so slow we were all sitting around like ducks in a pond. The mal riders were being greedy and paddling for everything, as usual. Fcuking hipster mal dudes ever...

From the first heat he looked on, same as Medina. But the snappiness was much better for JJF. Miles better, galaxies better, eons better lol

Re: Bells Beach

Steve nailed it in his article. I watched most of the heats but missed the Italo drama. JJF and Medina just looked a step above.

Why on earth was Owens spare not waxed?! Lol
