... gormless Pommie reviewer ... Irish, I think, given the spelling of his name. Send old Ronan an email if you like - r.d.a.mcdonald@reading.ac.uk - or read some more of his enlightening work here (although not while driving or operating heavy machinery) http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/sto...

This is probably a bit late, but with any electronic goods you get completely wet, you should first remove the batteries, then immerse them completely in metho, remove and leave to dry. Metho forces all the water away form the circuitry, then evaporates much, much faster than fresh water ever would,...

Those boys would have been jammed against the stainless rods at the entry to the pipe and the water pressure would have been massive. They would have been locals....... Jeez, that really doesn't bear thinking about :( Glad that the shark alerts came to nothing (shark must have been close in at lunc...

Thanks BC. A very odd thing to do - swim in a storm drain - and a terrible thing to happen.

Condolences to the families of those who drowned.

Shark alarms and WestPac chopper at Maroubra, 20/01/08

Would anyone have any idea what's going on at the Bra this evening (Sunday 20th)? It's been a funny weekend in the water. There were shark alarms on Saturday morning and arvo, then a shark sighting and alarms again today around lunch. The Westpac helicopter was buzzing around very low for half an ho...

... big hero-worshipping grief stiffy... Don't care about this topic at all, but that is one ace concept - "the grief stiffy". :lol Did you make that up, or did you read it in one of your doctor's books when he left you alone in his office for a minute? How about we make up a shit thread elsewhere ...

Cheers guys! I simply followed the "horizontal horizon" and the "couple of chicks" rules that I've picked up from other postings. Yesterday was a great day with lovely conditions, and I was lucky enough to have the day off. Most other times I've taken a random RDO, conditions have been absolut...

Maroubra - 28-08-2007 - Pics

Here are a few snaps I took this afternoon. Didn't hang around too long, as I was keen to get back into the water after a snapped leggie brought the morning session to a premature end. It was a new Balin leggie, which I thought were supposed to be pretty decent. Oddly enough, there were a couple of ...
