Re: Rotator Cuff Exercises

Also, reconstruction is only for the most very serious issues and professional sportsmen. RC problems typically managed by therapeutic exercise plans and strengthening stabilizing muscles,

Re: Rotator Cuff Exercises

Rotator cuff is complex. 4 major muscle groups, several tendons and interface between scapula, humerus and clavicula. Because of that, there's no one single exercise - it depends on your issues. As a general rule, most pulling exercises are great for rotator cuff (cables, therabands, rows etc) and s...

Re: Surf Lock - comments

Surf locks are great. True, they cost a bit, but it's a fraction of what a theft of or from your car can cost you. At home I use a spare key so don't need mine much, but it's invaluable when travelling and using hire cars. I once had a hire car ripped off in Byron (typical key under towel situation,...

Re: Philippines in December

La Union is basically OK safety-wise. Plenty of foreign travellers in the main areas. But San Juan is just a beachie with fickle swells and winds, and the accomodation around there leaves a lot to be desired. Not much else to do either - it's a fairly poor province. Of course, Filipino's tend to be ...

Re: Philippines in December

I would seriously reconsider your plans if that's what your girlfriend enjoys. Trust me I've been several times.

Search the forums for other conversations on the Phils; we've had a few.

Re: Philippines

I have travelled there several times and surfed quite a bit of the west coast of Luzon. Haven't yet made it to Siargao. Phils may just be one of the handful of substantially undiscovered surfing venues left on earth. Sure there are some better-known breaks that people have heard of (Cloud 9 being th...

Re: Channel Islands Biscuit or Fishcuit

I have a Fishcuit. Loved the look of the shape and ordered one without trying a demo (unfortunately I couldn't find one available anywhere). Anyway, I'm not sure how suitable it is for your average aussie beach. It is pretty chunky with flat rocker. It goes well on a long wall (great for speed runs ...

Re: Beach Break Surfboard.

I hope you enjoy the board Kunho. A lot of people seem to have success with them. For the record, Surftech's Tufflite boards are manfactured by Cobra International in Thailand. I don't think the manufacture has been subcontracted anywhere else, including Australia. Al Merrick/Channel Islands shapes ...

Re: Realsurf surf reports

Hi Don. The email account is a personal one hosted from my own domain, so it isn't getting caught up anywhere as far as I can see.

The problem first started a few weeks ago.

It's not the end of the world obviously, I was just wondering if others had experienced the same thing.

Realsurf surf reports

For a while now I seem to get the daily email reports a day late.

Is anyone else having the same issue?

Re: Beach Break Surfboard.

No offence to the poster who I'm sure was just trying to be helpful, but the Simon thruster is completely inappropriate for your needs. I suspect you would hate it immediately. Surfing mals and surfing performance shortboards is chalk and cheese. Salty's idea of the Mollusc is sound. They're a great...

Re: staying on the bukit

It's always a tricky negotiation for me to get her indoors to Bali in the first place, but I normally get home provided we go to a fancy hotel somewhere she can do some shopping/mooching about etc, like Seminyak or Legian. It may not be "'core" or in the spirit of the original Indo pioneers, but it ...

Re: Merrick MSF

I have one - great board. I find like most singles though, they tend to like a decent wave to truly appreciate them, preferably something down the line. There's no doubt your average single isn't as versatile as modern shapes and fin-set ups. Well crafted by the lads down at Onboard and recommended....

Like Nick says, it's all in the Q-cell mix. Forget spray paint.

Best of luck.

I found one that's 5'8" x 19 1/4" x 2 3/16" with a roundpin. I have to order boards from afar where I live, there is no local shaper here so these are just numbers off a stocklist for me. From what I gathered, the mollusc is just an allround shortboard that catches waves better. Sounds perfect for ...

I suffer from a board-buying affliction as well.

Just ordered an All Merrick Fishcuit from Onboard in Mona Vale - http://www.cisurfboards.com/sb_fishcuit.asp. It looks like a beauty but is pretty pricey so I hope it goes well.
