Re: Where did you surf today ?

The basic issue is that swimmers and learners don't actually understand that surfers ride diagonally across the wave. It makes you wonder about what they think is happening on TV when they show surf footage.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Bought mine after I had been riding my Fishcuit for a while. Really enjoyed the Fishcuit so I was more open to the idea that a fat board might work. Big mistake. It only went well in the little grovelling surf that I allready had plenty of boards for. Carver Fish fitted the bill far better and my Fa...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Particular horrible feature? It used to spin out when you put pressure on coming off the bottom. Particularly on my backhand. Never had a board do anything like it before. I put it down to the boxy sharp rails on the fat tail. Like I'm talking....make the drop, lean into the turn and find yourself ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

The general lack of awareness on both sides can be staggering. Plus the deer in the headlights syndrome when they actually notice a surfboard coming towards them.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Racecourse Reef on Friday. Occasional head high sets. About eight people in the water.
Crappy surf near Manyana yesterday and a marginally better one this morning.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yep, I was looking at jumping on a plane actually but decided we would just drive down the coast and see what pops up over the next few days.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

.....and in more mortal surfing Manly was fairly average today but just occasionally these rights lined up and rolled from nearly the Corso to up near Nth Steyne barreling all the way. Dickhead Brazilian put three finchops in my board when he took off on a dredging close out. Fcuk it. Bronte was big...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Funnily there was a left breaking around the western side and nearly meeting up with the right. Outside Bombie peaking up on the Southside and the Southie had too much water. Choppy as. Really south angle to the swell. Malabar was tiny. Bare Island mediocre sized.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Almost breaking a left hander into Gordon's Bay from Clovelly Car Park. One lid rider out at the Bombie but it looked crap. Quite a few out at the Bra which was missing most of the swell but closing out 50% of the time or more.

It's biggish not massive. Lots of movement in the water and windy as Fcuk. Guys were surfing Bronte. Pretty ordinary though.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Howling SouEast Wind, tons of swell. Looking really ugly on the Eastern Beaches. Nielsen Park had one lone SUP rider floundering around. Manly Ferry was getting pumped crossing the heads.
Apparently there was a bull shark out at Bondi at 2:45 as well. Didn't think they liked wild surf conditions.

Yeah, I saw that on the site but this ones really stretchy and really heavy duty taped seams. Good fit and I like the key pocket on the leg.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

Just scored a Tribord front zip wettie at Vinnis for $50. Seems very well made...stretchy, good fit, easy to get the flap on. They're a French Brand I think.
