Re: Where did you surf today ?

Saw it going off its tits at that size last year.
I can think of two absolute definites and five possibles in those conditions in that area.
Also no ones mentioned Box Head.

Of course Great Whites can easily swim from WA to the east coast of South Africa.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

A lone guy out at The Southy at Coogee. Lurline Bay was big and handling the swell but no takers. Three guys who seemed to be on ice were watching it. Quite a few out at Coogee main. Channel 9 News said the swell was so big that experienced surfers wore helmets at Dee Why. Insert footage of some guy...

Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?

I've wondered if surfers behaviour in the water confuses sharks as well. Since we often don't see them we may very often just paddle straight towards them or ignore their advance. Equally you might just be trying to catch a wave and the shark reacts to this as trying to get away and attacks.

I love that he had a bit of a Renaissance in his later years. He deserved it.

Re: J-Bay Pro 2017

Please remember me giving him a wrap for his performance at Margaret. The other question of course with all these 0.05 score differences is unconscious bias. Does the fact that he died his hair light change how we see his performance? Does Toledo thinking that improve his performance? Are blondes ge...

My son was out and he reckoned he saw a few do it. I agree...very rare indeed.

Re: Midlengths

I've waxed and waned over my fat bullet. The deep concave makes it really responsive and fast. Chines mean it rarely catches. However it's wide with a relatively refined nose and tail which can add to a bit of see sawing when the take off isn't clean. As you put weight behind the mid point it tends ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Apparently Bronte had the odd one breaking clean from outside the reef through to the shore break at Tama. Don't see that every day.

Re: J-Bay Pro 2017

Why did Toledo dye his hair gray. Brother from one grey man to another, stay raven as long as you can. Stay raven. God he's ripping, hows his set up bottom turn. Great That's an interesting point equating a rail turn to a safety turn. Don't disagree and an interesting point to ponder. Toledo was cr...

This Nepalese guy was one of the main carers for my Mother n law at the Nursing Home. He also worked at a Jewish facility. He said he much prefered the one my Ma in Law was in because everyone was generally friendly.

Re: J-Bay Pro 2017

I wouldn't like to be a white living in South Africa, let me tell you that my friend. I met a lot of South African Jewish people when I had a girlfriend from Zimbabwe. Educated and very politically correct....but....they still came out with reactions to things that were beyond their rational belief...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I was in the water and paddling out in the dark this morning. Glassy conditions, head to occasional double, but a wait in between, board just hissing through the water. The whole volcanic spine of mountains was visible for a while with the sun rising behind them, magic. No one else came out at all ...
