Re: Midlengths

I really try and catch myself if I find Im treating famous people differently. Most hate it and appreciate being treated like regular folk.....unless they are wonnabes.

Compared to what?
Your dick.
It's not like fins come in different sizes or anything.
May I introduce the terms large, medium and small in relation to fin size.

Re: Maldives

BA, mate of mine Jenny Boggis is running womens surf trips to Fiji. Looks pretty OK to awesome for less than expert surfers. The feedback was positive. Would be easy for you to organise trips to Frigates or Cloudbreak if you wanted to up the excitement level. No israelis, good beer, kava, great fis...

isn't it highly likely that early season you'll be surfing 2-3ft surf 90% of the time.

You'd hand over that much coin to surf waves like that?
Aren't they waves you save for when you are 65+ and you can't get up very quickly anymore and need soft, deep reefs and warm water?
Keep talking.

Re: Maldives

Its all pretty uninspiring really. Pay top dollar to stay in crowded over priced below par resorts to surf waves riddled with israelis and fly 14 hours to get there. Who could be fcccked? Agreed, loofy. Fiji was pleasantly surprising despite my encounters with the reef. It's simple to get around an...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

What a pleasant surfing day it is today :-D-:
Nice at Bronte. A few lazy lefts and a good big right that went right across. Always love the take off and bowl out the back there.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Got motivated. Decided to go down to the beach. Surf then meet up with wife for breakfast after she finishes swimming. About a block away from home realised I forgot my wallet. Went back. Off I went. Checking it out. Mal comp. a few waves but lots of close outs. Hop out to get ready and realise I've...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Saw a big manta ray at Bronte when I was kooking out trying to get the feel of this new board. I've rarely felt unspecific dread in the surf. Most memorable was one time at Crescent the sky was really dark with storm clouds and then the sun dropped below them as it was about set and light up everyth...

Re: Midlengths

My beloved carver has suddenly developed little blisters in the paint on one side. Some can be scratched off but larger ones leave a spot. Fcuked if I know what happened to it. It's like it's got the pox. Worked out its from the WD40 I sprayed on the zipper cause it was sticking. That was a couple ...

Re: Twin fins as go-to boards

Yeah, when I first got the fishcuit I sliced my heel up a few times on the Merrick Fins. Hadn't seen anything like them till I had these plastic hobbies. Dragged out a pair of G7000.

Had a quick surf at the alley mid morning
No skis in sight
Did a shearer second wave. Mid sized one doing a great impression of Kelly's wave pool. Barely a drop out of place
Figured that will do and went in
Imagine that with an escort from the JetSki.

Re: Twin fins as go-to boards

Tolhurst tuflite I got off an Irish backpacker for $80. He had bought brand new plastic Quad Fins and a new legrope. Some fairly extreme damage but it's looking pretty good now. One crushed rail looks a bit rough but it's water tight and true to the line of the rail. The other gouges won't show up a...

Re: Twin fins as go-to boards

This fish I've been fixing up came with some brand new crappy plastic quad fins and a legrope. Probably drag out Mt Al Merrick set or just chuck some big front find in and use the plastic rears. They are super sharp....as are the Al Merricks. Is this a quad thing?
