Re: Injuries Blog

Does getting your earhole rebored from surfers ear count?
Twisted ankle one time that had me bailed up for a couple of weeks.
Fin in the kneecap.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Agreed....plus they are endemic to most of SE Asia so you never know where half the bought stuff comes from.
I've eaten a lot of ordinary reef fish over the years too.

Went for another paddle at Bronte......Beach was packed...surf very lacklustre. Even surfed the reef which I never do.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

So the rebadged Peter Drouyn is claiming KS stole his patent for the wave pool. Brilliant stuff. Drouyn must take the cake for being the most extreme individual to ever be a great surfer. Others have achieved controversy at particular times but Drouyn has managed to keep it up for forty years.

Re: princess margaret river pro

The Bondi Air Comp set a new standard. It actually looked better on tv than in real life.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Paddled out at Bronte yesterday arvo....sat out the back for ages then got a good one right across. Thought I would paddle along to the south in the rip that runs along the inside. Ended up back out and had to paddle in against the rip to get in as the tide had come in so hardly any waves were break...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Decided to drive down. Thought about going out at Bronte. Thought it would be leisurely. Went out at Bondi. You know when you look at the surf and there's still a few coming through but you can see the tides going to drop and screw it up. Thought it would and it did.

Re: princess margaret river pro

Surely that negates the need to have the comp at that location then?
Also it gives a great wave a literal slap in the face.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Last year I was paddling through a set wave at a mid well known mid north coast point on a biggish day and a school of mullet came screaming straight at me. I was the only one out as the other crew were spread out and the only person near me had just caught a wave. Yikes.

Big call for the kids. I'm loath to make judgements on anyone trying to keep their family together though.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I've got a bit of sympathy for people who are just so full of juice that they find everyday life difficult. Traditionally they would be doing deeds of daring do somewhere.....maybe with more portent than taking a photo in an extreme place in the middle of nowhere. What's a picture worth these days? ...

Re: Snapper Quiky Pro 2017

Yep.....I had a mate who reckoned he invented tow in boards.......twenty years before tow ins......and jet skis. Maybe he meant toe-in boards ? Funny you should say that....his point was he had dreamed of having footstraps on your board......so obviously that means he thought of it first. Someone e...

Re: princess margaret river pro

I've always subconsciously wanted to surf Bells. It's so iconic.
If someone said it was on my bucket list I probably wouldn't disagree but I would never put it there myself.
Guess I have now :-D-:
