Re: Just general surfing stuff

East is better for that particular spot IMHO. The lefts down the beach can probably hold more size than the point in really big conditions if anyone was up for a long sharky paddle. Double overhead would be pushing it for the point. There's somewhere else around there that I would love to check out ...

Re: Pinched nerves?

I might get distracted by all the mirrors as well. Apparently they are set up like infinity mirrors so you can see your gluteus Maximus repeated for eternity.

Re: Pinched nerves?

I think the heavy dumbells would reap havoc with my joints. Might give the ball a roll. Shoes are the big factor so stolen thongs could slow recovery.

Re: Pinched nerves?

I'm open to other interpretations of a momentary stabbing pain if I put pressure on the joint in the wrong direction.

Re: Pinched nerves?

I've had a pinched nerve in my right hip since last week. I put it down to standing on concrete all day last week but a couple of Pilates moves probably aggravated it as well......plus a pair of work shoes with the lining collapsing. I've had niggling things like this before but this time it hurts l...

Love to but unfortunately work has other ideas. You're right though. Nice looking conditions for it.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Nice combo of styles there, Duck. Studied understatement with a dash of Hatchie hyperbole thrown in.

I always thought McCoys backfoot focus inspired Simon to develop the thruster.

Re: The Good Luck A Number One McCoy Thread

It’s worth pointing out that the Stu Nettle review was of an ‘80s tri zap, which is why the subtext is Yikes, this surfboard doesn’t work. By all accounts the current ones are eminently rideable by comparison Stu’s got a charging down-the-line style and drives hard off his front foot. It’s no surpr...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

More swims today. Great little lagoon at South Bondi. Weird swell directions. Waves went from too full and breaking on the shore at 8:30 to too low and closing out in two inches of water by 11:30. Mal Comp on as well.

You've got to hand it to Cheyne though riding those Fcuking things in solid waves.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Sounds like a big step up from swanning about on a boat passing villages of people living in poverty. Did a couple of brief activities with a group of people in Cambodia who are helping to build local medical facilities over there. I've thought about giving it more of a real try when I'm not working.

If I had to. Not much reason to choose there rather than anywhere else in Asia though. Not like I'd be racing off to Salt Lake City to hang out with Mormons either.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

I've been to more Islamic Countries than you have Hatchie. Buying a house in Lakemba is hardly a cutting edge ethnic experience. I think most fundamentalist zealots are dangerous and ignorant. Christian, Islamic or Hindu for that matter. You just have a parochial romantic image of living in the Sout...

But you see Beans, Minister for the bleeding obvious. I’m aware of that and it’s one of the reasons that I want go. I can see why it wouldn’t appeal to you though,my learned pickled friend because you can’t get shitfaced every night. I'm a bit funny about putting myself in the middle of fundamental...
