Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yes they do. More at Canguu though. Always good watching people trying to get back in at Ulus at high tide as well.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

That swimming pool at Ulus does my head in. The ability to watch little details like the progress of an SUP rider trying to get out when it's big or some guy blowing the same section on every wave makes it more like the real thing. Also some guys who aren't necessarily better surfers ability wise bu...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I liked the go out up the end but man the go in would be sketchy if it was big. Found it a bit too closey outey sometimes when small. It looks way better with some size. All the back packers that ride the whitewater in would be decimated if it was larger.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I've been watching footage of the Bukit a bit lately, Cranky. Some of the footage of Balangan at size looks great but the inside looks nightmarish. It's like the whole reef sucks dry with whitewater belting across it for the length of the beach. It looks really treacherous to get in with no real cha...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

The sand pumping and groins weren't really about creating surf though. That was a by product. It was beach stabilisation and sand retention.

Better than it looked this arvo. Lefts and rights. Both ending in piles of seaweed.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Went for a paddle since I took the day off. Pretty frustrating little surf. Pretty much gave up after a couple of crappy going nowhere rights and the usual reluctant to break smaller ones. Rip was deceptively strong so everyone kept finding themselves too far out. Finally snared a left that hit the ...

Re: winter

Banks show a little promise in a couple of spots at local beaches but there aren't enough different banks to spread the crowds so it looks like a bit of a shit fight on the weekends. Might try to get away soon if possible.

ha ha the modern surfboard industry has killed the second hand market
Makes it easy to score good boards that you wanted to try. Pity is you have to keep them if they don't work for you.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Groan......nice little lefts in the corner at Bondi......if you could get them. Super crowded. Hey, tool guy on the stripey minimal.....the fact you can catch every wave that comes through doesn't mean you have to. Better paddle back out as fast as I can to make sure no one else can catch one. Thank...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Why? Because you've got that nationalistic air about you when it comes to surfing. You know, the good old days of Australian surfing and all that. Nothing wrong with it, just comes across that way to me. There's plenty who are like that. Nah, you missed the.....used to....bit. I think the current c...
