The only way to stop the slaughter is for the Japanese people to pressure their government to end it. Last year I was up at Hervey Bay and went on a whale watching cruise. The Japanese people I spoke to on that cruise were horrified that their country's whalers still engaged in the annual slaughter....

Under Australian law it is illegal to slaughter whales in Australian territorial waters, such as the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary.
