Re: Summer

From the Goldy today. If you go to 1:02:50, there's a pretty epic barrel. https://youtu.be/GFr0402wtx4 That'd be Brenno Dorrington in the epic barrel. I dunno who did the step off but I don't think he dogged anything, that section collapsed and he couldn't get around it. Probably more a case of Shi...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

well the Uncrowded Dream died this morning up here at good ol Newport 2-3' NE groundswell, inconsistent, warm, offshore winds, and 60 rubbernecks out. Amazing! Everything from Sth American back packers to 40 year old beginners to 60 year old Pretend Old Salts on shitty $1200 longboards! Tragically t...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Pyzel is a fan of matching the stringer rocker as closely to the rail rocker as he can manage, he has a lot of faith in his boards' natural lines after many years of Pipe, Sunset etc. You get that with a lot of the good Hawaii shapers, Arakawa, Bushman, Rawson etc, rocker beats bottom shape.

Re: Summer

Surfing is gonna be a source of joy for us all for the next three weeks.

Crabmeat will have to learn to duck dive using his right foot.

ah he is pretty good now but tended to get carried away by his own froth in the past, I think it was all a bit overstated but I and all his friends have relished feeding chips into the fire.

Re: Kelly's wave.

Nick you answered the most common questions, but what was the best question you've been asked about the surf ranch? Roughly 5 minutes between waves does my head in. That kills almost all commercial applications. Nobody's asked me a really great question about it yet. I think because it's all so new...

Re: biggest wave ever U ever surfed?

much better rustt. Ha Himalayas, many a man has found God out there. It's gorgeous etc but when you get a big one and ride it through then it just sucks and closes out, it's such a flogging One of my mates was out last winter with Dave Wassell, Dave was frothing, caught a real bomb, 25', it drew lik...

Re: Kelly's wave.

The inside of his garage. Nick what was the best question you asked/most surprising answer? I asked Noah Grimmett, who is basically the overseer of the project and has been with it the whole time, if there was a moment he thought the pool would never happen, and he said yes. They worked on it for n...

The analogy of visiting a hooker seem rather apt.
It's totally not. Strangely enough, women are human beings, but waves are not.

Re: Kelly's wave.

Pierre only took on the CEO role after a couple of other guys had made mincemeat of it. It was a real hospital pass. He took it because he felt it was the right thing to do, he'd had a great life with Quik and was part of the undeniable family atmosphere that helped the company grow in its earlier d...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

insane amounts of sand shifted today......some of it in surprising ways, in terms of being a general accretive as opposed to erosive trend. some of the sand looks.......just insane. When are you coming up to pick up those fins Carroll? The next month might be a good time. Oh I'll be there shortly.
