Re: Where did you surf today ?

Jesus fcuken christ the post Christmas Sydney shit spell is awesome. It tried to break itself this morning with a hesitant and feeble minded pulse from the sth, crossing up the 18" worth of easterly swell that's been trickling down from the Goldy for the past week. Result, waves of a gutlessness no ...

Seem to be a few regulars that have done the Harold Holt. Steve, Crabmeat, AJ, Karlos, Davros. Maybe more. It’s a slow death and may be terminal this time.
I would have too but I couldn't be fcuked.

I'm like one good surf trip away from forgetting about the whole thing

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I’m pretty sure someone is going to drown today. Does it stress you to watch clueless people wander into serious situations? Was watching a kid on Xmas day at Boomerang on a bodyboard with no flippers go out in a rip, beach was pretty empty and his parents were too busy talking to friends and havin...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Had a lot of fun at home out the peak today, this arvo that is. Super low tide, lowest of the year, and a little SE swell under a moderate NE seabreeze. These very traditional near Christmas conditions rang so many bells in my memory, and it must have done the same for a lot of the crew, because qui...

Re: Quiver thread

Ah I figure you need a box to hold fins in a board when it’s bigger but if you’re gonna have five of ‘em then you want them to be small boxes. It’s different in a bigger board ie 9’ plus when you just go with Futures. But when they’re clustered like this you don’t want the boxes changing the tail. I...

https://i.postimg.cc/YSq8Zhbp/IMG-1835.jpg Two mean boards, both 6'9", one a 10 channel Free Flight singly, the other a semi re vee Banksy quad (for now) For very solid high quality waves of slightly different kinds. The 10 is for big fast open faced down the line surf, the Banksy is for heavy barr...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

No — you wanna extend away from the legrope ankle, face down in the water. The whole length of your body is then between your head and the board. It may spring back but it’ll never hit any part of you.

Re: Just general surfing stuff

People usually fall off SUPs backwards. Because they’re worried about the paddle, that means they are almost always facing away from the board when the legrope pulls it back. Tip by the way, when you feel pressure on your leggie, ALWAYS turn away from the leggie, ie face directly away from the sourc...
