There are some very cheap and occasionally good deals on gumtree if you are looking for a nice big minimal sort of board.

Re: Board report - new Miller V-Skate
Just got a second hand 6'3" V-skate from Grant a few weeks ago. I was a bit worried that it'd be too small, but it seems pretty perfect.

Also, there is a Department of Health circular that there is a Legionella pneumonia cluster in Bali, so if you get a cough, fevers, aches and pains and have been to Bali and aren't getting better, then just keep this in mind, (most of these will be just normal old upper respiratory tract virus infec...

Re: The Carroll Question Thread
Nick Nack,
My surfing crazy neighbour was thinking of leaving school early.
He is clever and very good at English, but hasn't found his calling yet.
Have you any sage or not so sage advice for him? He is 16 yr old and still in Year 10.
So Long and Thanks for All the Fish.

Re: Where to live
It sounds like you are considering larger regional centres as well as the smaller places. I suppose that i am a big city girl, and would find a little town difficult. Do you want to be nearer a bigger town for its services, such as a hospital, high schools, TAFE, work for the missus if she wants to ...

Re: What board size are you?
40 years old, weigh 48kg and am 5'2" tall. Taller than all of you, midgets.
Maybe 3 years of actual surfing interrupted by lots of other diversions.
6'4" 20" 2.75" McCoy nugget (now pinched by my husband)
6'3" 20 5/8" 2.5" MORE Fatbat diamond tail. Very new and still getting used to it.

Re: Flesh eating surfers
Having tried to avoid making inflammatory comments about people's choice of food, I would now like to slip into sanctimonious mode and declare that people who eat brains, liver, tripe and the like are short a few chromosomes. I'll never get that. In a moral sense it is no more questionable than eat...

Re: New Surf Wax Formula's
Thanks, Longinus. Just got mine in the mail. Am waiting for my new Fatbat to arrive, and the fluid to drain from my stupid knee. Then I will report back. Love the look of the tin and the wax comb. Would probably want to get a wax "refill" without the tin, at some stage. My hubby and I didn't really ...

Re: Lord Howe Is
When we went about 8 years ago. We found the accommodation quite pricey for what you get, but the place is pristine. No one locks their house or car, and the only bicycle thefts are by drunk locals; so the bike only ever goes up the road a bit. Be careful about the baggage limits. I think there was ...

I detest crowds.
Particularly grommits; 'cos they surf way better than me.
Besides, I can't steer, so it would be especially rude to run the babies over.

I first got the surfing bug about 9 years ago, when I was 31 years old. I took some lessons at Bondi with some other Uni students. They were really funny. The best one was the German girl who could swim, well, sort of. They threw us in the pool just to make sure. She asked our instructor if it would...
