Yep, I concur. The new issue is great. I sold one yesterday to a German backpacker who has never surfed! He said it seemed like a good way to learn about the Australian psyche.

yeah, lethem's big; can't keep him in stock for long enough. dino, the crumb sounds interesting, as does the capote. without seeing them, i wouldn't even guess. (just to give you an idea of the scope of these things, first editions of "in cold blood" range anywhere between $3 and $7000!) sight unsee...

children's section is pretty good. we're building it up; my wife's a kid's books freak. surfing books are hard to come by. anyone got any to sell us?

I'm not sure if this counts a spam, but it may be of interest to readers of this topic (mods, please remove if this ain't allowed)... The good people of Kurungabaa have kindly allowed my bookshop to sell the latest issue of Kurungabaa. The shop's called Desire Books and it's on Whistler St, Manly. w...

Re: Calling all surf report buffs...
Thanks for the replies, guys. - Don, the windguru site seems to be down (is it czech? if so, no wonder!) - Nick, the BOM marine guide is pretty good, but for the life of me I can't find any archives of reports. I'm looking for the swell and wind conditions around Ulladulla for the last couple of yea...

Calling all surf report buffs...
Hello people. I'm wondering if any of you surf meteorological nuts know of any swell forecasting websites that keep an archive of their reports. For example, if I want to see what the swell was like on September 26th 2005, I'd be able to do a simple search. It seems like one of the many surf report ...

Re: Peak Climax Front Zip steamer?
Hey. I was asking this question here a month or so ago. Lots of ok cheap wetsuits around, but what i settled on was the latest Peak Energy steamer. 3/2, GBS seams, stretchy shoulders and arms, tough knee pads, reinforced seams in the rough wearing spots, warranty. The best suit I've owned and all fo...

Re: twin fin keel fish...who has one and how it goes?
yeah, my Hyndfish has its tail pulled in a bit more than the average old school fish, so i imagine the problem would be even more noticeable on one of those wide assed fish. mark, i'd be keen to see what you'd recommend for a committed twin keel enthusiast with a smidge of curiosity about quads and ...

Re: twin fin keel fish...who has one and how it goes?
i've got a beautiful Bushrat Hyndfish with glass-on twin keels (6'1" x 20.75" x 2.75", from memory). it's the most wonderfullest board i've ever ridden and i ride it 98% of the time in all types of conditions. the only fault i can find is that it sometimes kinda stalls on take off; i get to my feet ...

that **** pie shop covered in the gay rainbow flags at milton. i should have gone to legends like usual. and anything and everything to do with berry. The bakery at Berry is usually alright. The bakery in Berry is excellent I don't care if it's run by weirdly intense softly-spoken faux-Buddhist tre...

Re: Wetsuit outlet/seconds store
thanks for the tips, all. apropos the never-ending wetsuit sale at mosman surfection; it has either ended or was a hoax. i dropped by there a few days ago and the too-cool-for-school shop assistant looked confused when i mentioned a sale. "nah, that must've been a while ago," he said. "it's on your ...

Wetsuit outlet/seconds store
Anyone know of any wetsuit outlet/seconds stores in Sydney? My steamer had its last winter several winters ago and I can't face another July of uncontrollable shivering, nor can I face the $400-500 for this seasons latest hi-tech thing.

i started late; in my early twenties. i skateboarded all through childhood and adolescence and that helped significantly. also, a total lack of understanding of how dangerous the surf can be pushed me forward a little faster. i remember paddling out (somehow) to a 6ft+ bronte after about a month of ...

I agree Nick. Statues and memorials and street names should only be dedicated to those who have deceased. The only exception, historically, is the good ol' days of Stalin et al (with the interesting variation being that streets/cities are re-named after someone's death (famous example being Stalingr...
