Got 5 days R&R up there this week so am taking a Mal as surf looking small. Anyone from there or surf there can suggest a spot during school Hols?

Can anyone suggest spots near East London UK where it might be worth a surf, and can hire a Mal and wetsuit (June / July) Pier @ Brighton had been suggested but can't find a hire place as yet. I know being summer SW Coast or Cornwall etc would be a better option but I'm being driven by an old bloke ...

Agree with below. See heaps go out as rentals and other than fin damage from being beached they cop a pounding and survive and also seem to ride a bit better than the DW generics. Depends where you buy it and how much for, you'll get a reasonable amount back when you're ready to go on to your next b...

North Steyne and there was a guy in a yellow rashie whoust have though he has priority every wave as dropped in at every opportunity until a Mal ran over his board (not me). Guy could surf well enough to do the odd cutback etc so had no excuse. Not sure if it was his board I saw in 2 pieces in the b...
