Update - I'm going back to 1964 now.
I can't find rankings before 1991, and only some before 1978.
Anyone have any sources?

If this is your sort of thing, the Manly Hydraulics Laboratory at Manly Vale will be open to the public this coming Saturday (14.9.2013).
(they manage the buoys for wave data collection etc)

Given the momentum of that thing, wouldn't you need a new fin every time you wipe out, as it goes crashing into the shore?

Assume about a 5% repair cost, you're looking at $25k per outing.

How do you find wax lasts on the board compared to standard construction due to the extra heat absorption? I have a red fibreglass board that loses wax at a far greater rate,
