Re: Just general surfing stuff

Tomo rips on his own boards. Never tried one but I don't think they would suit my style.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Went out at fat crock on the 6'6. Bit of a crock but got a couple of good ones off the bank outside spotx. Then I got a coffee from sharpes and checked out the point. The carpark was imitating bronte. From that POV, a nice big single from out the back would be what I would've wanted to be on, pity I...

Surfed till dark. About 2ft and pretty fun. A cpl of fore runners I think at about 4 foot but they missed the bank anyway.

Re: Mexico- Puerto, la Punta etc

I went in 2007. You'll be able to buy a board in Puerto easily if you're happy to not have your own. We went Air New Zealand - LA - Mex city - Puerto. But I'm sure you'll be able to search pretty easily the best fares now. If there's a really big swell I'd go South. The spots aren't really secret bu...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It was perfectly clean in Bal all morning which was nice. Some good fun waves when you waited for the sets. Only about 3-4foot and some pretty long waits. The main break had a ridiculous crowd on it so I let them have it. Looked like some smokers there when they came though. We definitely didn't do ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

How many decent waves would break at the point between 6-7.30am? I'd be finding a different morning routine or stick to the gentleman's hour. Only option for me, unfortunately. Some days I can pick my windows, days like this it's all about balance with minimal impact on family. I've got kids alllll...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I still feel like I go faster in a straight line on quads than thrusters, channel bottoms excepted.
Unscientific I know.

Obviously the centre fin provides more lift and drive in a straight line, but this is rare as most surfing is just pumping turn to turn for speed.
This doesn't make sense to me. Definitely not obvious.
I thought it was the opposite - drag and pivot.

I'm same as you BD. but my quad fins are pretty small. But they hold so I'm fine with that.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Me too. First surf of new stick today. Quaddy.
I don't know why but I find the quad setup kind of ugly to look at and feel like it will go shithouse.
But I'm a full convert on these Muz bourton round tail quads.
So good forehand and backhand.
