A while back, years ago, fong, i think, posted a painting of a guerilla-like figure surfing. apologises for the description if it is a self portrait.

i keep thinking about that painting. can i see it again? is it for sale?

mangled metaphors are my favourite thing about Pro Surfing. In fact, If I was naming the Tour I would call it the the ASP Mangled Metaphor World Championship Tour. i think you're onto something...the inverse square law of sports commentary. when was the high point of league? when rex mossop sprayed...

i apologise for offending you nick. i was genuinely curious about steve's criticism of professional standup surfing as it is now.

some of you standups are are a touchy lot. you wouldn't last a day on a kneeboard with skin that thin.

any one have any opinions about when, if ever, the "sport" of surfing was great? or even good?
the 80s? the 70s with the 2sm/coke surfabout comps? before that when it was local boardrider clubs competing?

he loved being bitten by a shark?
probably got a taste for it being gummed by a few gummy sharks.
