Re: Where did you surf today ?

Just called in to see Banksy, but he's in Lombok.

His house has the best view of Uluwatu, counted 110 surfers in the water.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

The aftermath Cranked. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7DBRUgvROh/?igsh=MjJvcDZlazRpcjQy Its huge! I just got back from a surf there, the collapse maybe 40m x 20m x 10m. No-one on site. Near shore I was walking on sand instead of reef (very pleasant) so it seems to have added a lot of sand to about...

Re: Just general surfing stuff

Interesting story from Stu on Swellnet. Be interested in Cranked’s thoughts. Looks totally fucked to me. https://www.swellnet.com/news/surfpolitik/2024/05/16/the-indonesian-push The old style surf school usually had around 10 or less learners and one or two guides and you'll often see two or more s...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

David is me, Paul is a Bali mate, this happened about two hours ago at Impossibles: [16/5, 5:14 pm] Paul Bali: Just had the most full-on experience [16/5, 5:15 pm] David: Tell me more! [16/5, 5:16 pm] Paul Bali: You know the stairs that go up the cliff to Anantara (not the old lift)? [16/5, 5:16 pm]...

They are just rolling in, guess it's a bit early in the season for all the guys who really rip. Single Fin is packed and cranking out good vibes on about 20 top quality speakers.

Padang also firing and packed

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Just found out why, mm, perfect conditions, sunny and glass, Ulus is pumping but too big for most: no-one out at the bombie, no one at temples, just 3 at the peak, a couple at outside corner, 10 at racetrack but it's half the size there.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Who's carcass?

Just checked Impossibles, 90 in the water, 20 minutes with no decent waves, then a monster set that caught everyone inside.
It was mayhem, everyone was swept down towards Bingin. Three loose boards but I couldn't see anyone swimming.
Not worth the hassle, I'll check again later

Re: Sun Screen

Reflection is an issue, but I found that the sunlight that hit my face occurred mostly when I wore baseball style caps - it was getting in from the sides. When I wear larger brimmed hats (theres a few that are a fair bit larger than most) its not nearly as much of an issue

Re: Sun Screen

I mainly rely on a physical barrier, there's lots of good things available for both cool andvwarmer climes. It easy in winter with wetsuits and various head coverings

Gonna try this one.

Invisible Zinc

Face and Body mineral sunscreen

SPF 50
2 hours water resistant
Natural zinc oxide shield
Suitable for sensitive skin
I've been using it for decades now for my face and neck. Regular sunscreen on my legs, and a brimmed hat.
