Re: Where did you surf today ?

I like this about the Indian Ocean swells The Indian Ocean is mostly dominated by swell waves generated predominantly under the extreme windy conditions prevailing over the Southern Ocean and southern Indian Ocean. The ocean surface displays a combination of wide range of gravity waves with varying ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It can be hilarious. Surfers arrive at ulus, perfect 2', paddle out, catch a few waves. Time goes by... crowd increases. On the cliffs you can see the sets 10 k away. First 3' comes, crowd moves out a bit, 4 footer on the way, paddle further out. They can't see what's on the way or they would be pad...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

You were doing so well until "a lull of 15-40 minutes". WTF? I don't know the physics of of it, but the longer the period the longer the lulls, but also the longer the period swells have more waves in the sets. But hey, you got all day, 6am to 7pm. Maybe 'boo can fill us in on the cause. I like it ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Hrumph. Fcuk those short period swells! Next week I'm off to the land where a decent swell has a period of 16 to 21 seconds. These are what swells should be, nice even lines, 10-20 waves in a set, carefully step laddering up from 3' to 8'. And in between sets, a nice lull of 15-40 minutes so you can...

Sorry you found it dirty there, Cranky. Have you been to India?
The area is definitely a fair bit earthier than SE Asia.
Haha. Mrs Cranked refuses to go India with me (she spent a while there) because she reckons I wouldn't handle it at all well

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It was a non-surf trip with Mrs Cranked and two old friends, both female. any Babasharky tent action to report? Whoooeee, geriatric sex! Sorry, nothing to report. Re: Where did you surf today ?

From the age of 8 until 16 I played rugby league and union at school and on weekends.

I was ok at it, enough to get selected in the St. George rep team, but when I discovered surfing I was hooked.

Not for her. I lived in Canberra for three years though and got right into skiing there and NZ.

Surfing, skiing and bikes, the best three sports imo.
