Re: Midlengths

He's really laid back, doesn't hassle at all, friendly and talks to people. If you had to surf with a pro Machado would be the one I reckon

Re: Midlengths

No way Davros.

I rode the 6'6 fish yesterday and the McCoy today. Reasonable waves for a change and just five of us out early. Rob Machado and a few others brought it up to ten in the second hour and by the third hour there were thirty punters and it was time to go in

Re: Midlengths

I've been riding my 7'10 Takayama egg a fair bit the last week - actually just cycling thru it, my astron zot quad and a 6'6 fish - session by session. The length and width make it easy to paddle in, the thruster setup (with finbox) with hull-like rolled V and low volume rounded rails, mean it prett...

Re: Shearer. Boo. Come in here

Hahaha. You guys just reminded me of the the racetrack at ulus earlier last year. We had some really torrential rain for a few days. The waterfall in the cave was alltime and a 100m of beach appeared just outside the cave creating a new sandy point break just at the end of racetracks. So we had the ...

Re: Midlengths

Re: Midlengths

Jam I was thinking something like this for the bukit from Gerry https://static1.squarespace.com/static/53445d4ce4b044acbaa8a0a4/53458ff8e4b09b059485368c/5398985ce4b024006594ade9/1402509465811/01.jpg?format=750w That looks sweet Cranked. Re: Midlengths

Trying to get my head around the "splitting of hairs" between the whole mid-lengths thing. Think I'm getting close. MidLength = board between 7-8 foot long, based off a longboard, has a single fin or 2+1. Is "cool". Why? Because Steve said so. BigBoy Hybrid = board between 7-8 foot long, based off ...

Re: Single fin shortboards

Jam I have a surftech 7'10 Takayama Egg. Its more gunny than the one in the pic, but heaps of rolled V throughout, pinched rails and significant tail rocker. It has a finbox but the supplied centre fin is 5.5" and it a US box so none of my other fins fit it. So I'll be riding it as a thruster which ...

Re: swimming/paddling/misc water sports.

What I really hate about Nick's training schedules is that I read them, and part way in I'm thinking this is really fcuking ridiculously hard, and then, I hit "and go through that eight times".

Re: Fiji Pro Cloudbreak 2017

i'll be sad if they make the contests one-day or two-day events. what do we want - no more boredom, frustration or exasperation in surfing? i think that's crazy. I hadn't really thought of it like that Al.......maybe you're right. The surfing is better than ever and sure there's lots of boredom wai...

Oh Christ no, I'm an absolute ponce. Have you forgotten the heated vest?
Did it work? There could be chilly currents from the lombok straights this time of year.

Re: Fiji Pro Cloudbreak 2017

Theres still a big core group of americans on the bukit.

Most of the surfers in the area where I stay are yanks, usually from hawaii. The brazilians outnumber everyone, but they come and go, the yanks are more or less permanents
