Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yeh nice work Duck. Lakey Peak? Nothing so exotic thudster. Just the spot we call Lakey down the coast because it’s in front of the lake mouth. Waves were like Indo though. Haven’t seen it like that for maybe 10 years. I spent a month at Lakey Peak around 1983, there was just one losmen, no village...

Re: The Good Luck A Number One McCoy Thread

I hate to be a naysayer but there’s a reason that MR won four titles and Cheyne won none. I’m sure that the McCoys go OK but the MR super twin is one of the greatest boards of all time. If I had a choice between a McCoy and and MR I’d go for the MR all day every day. Come on Jimmy! Their difference...

Re: Midlengths

I had a 6'4 MR twinny around 1990 with a wider nose than his later twins. $200 new from Jackos.

And before that a 5'10 San Juan twin $195 new, from that surf shop near the Wanda school. It had a fantastic spray and I lusted after it for a while.

Re: Midlengths

Riding a new board and sussing out what it does and doesn't do is one of the great pleasures of surfing

Re: Front shoulder pain.

Ummm, just by-the-by Beanie, the pain for Rotator Cuff injuries manifests in your shoulder and upper arm.

I found the pain moved around a lot and the upper arm pain was very confusing.

Re: Front shoulder pain.

Although these are for rotator cuff problems I think they encompass a pile of shoulder problems:

Re: Front shoulder pain.

Seeing a physiotherapist was the best thing I did for my torn rotator cuff. Unlike the GP consultations which are 10 minutes they were 30 minutes - we covered a lot of ground in that time. She had a working model of all the shoulder bones and muscles and showed me exactly how everything worked and w...

Re: Midlengths

Sounds like a Joel Fitz sea gypsy would suit you well. Wasn't it Tootr who bought one from my local shop? If so how are you liking it? The Sea Gypsy and the Magic Carpet seem quite different. The Magic Carpet has a narrower nose and tail and more nose lift. I think it would handle the waves I surf ...
