Re: Mentawai 2012

Yep, sounds like a plan.
Was it a fin chop or an unplanned encounter with the reef? Which spot?

Re: Mentawai 2012

First morning of my first trip to the islands (28th).
Providing my boards and I remain intact should be a week of swell at least I reckon.

Re: Mentawai 2012

Cheers mate. Surfline have 372 hour forecasts. Not something you'd stake your life against. Pretty happy with the way the models are showing plenty of SW energy pushing in. Mentawai 2012

G'day all,

Anyone like to take a stab at swell prospects for the end of April?
Close examination of the LWT, SOI, MJO, NRL and ALP has been of little benefit.
Faithfully,

Laurie's wave was so heavy from the boat. Restaraunts was 6-8ft on Monday morning, with a dropping tide. Cloudbreak was perfect on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Curly: Longish period 2-3ft shorebreak lines every 10 mins, breaking hard in a foot or less of water and barrelling across a rip.Two stitches in my face from my fin. Worth it.
